After the departure of Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Nick Grimshaw, Rita Ora has confirmed that she will be leaving X Factor.

"I had a ball on The X Factor last year and will miss the team," Ora tweeted on Tuesday. "Can't wait to work with you again," she wrote in a following tweet to Simon Cowell. "I'll be round for dinner soon. Thank you for the experience & love X."

Ora, who joined the ITV series as a judge last year after moving over from The Voice, is reportedly leaving to focus on her music and acting career, having bagged a role in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey sequel.

The 25-year-old singer's exit means Cowell will be the only remaining judge from last year's panel of the popular talent show.

"Rita brought a great energy to the show last year and did a brilliant job mentoring the girls' category, leading Louisa to victory." ITV said in a statement to Newsbeat. "We wish her all the best with her music and film plans for the rest of the year."

The news comes a month after Fernandez-Versini announced that she was leaving the show, also to concentrate on her music career.

"I have learnt so much and enjoyed nurturing talent but I've missed making music and am excited to be recording again," she said at the time.

DJ Grimshaw and the show's presenters, Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, also confirmed they would be coming back next season, making way for Dermot O'Leary to return as a host on the series.

Cowell will be joined by Louis Walsh, who will be returning as a judge this year and the likes of Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Mel B are rumored to be in the running to join them on the panel.
