The parents of the nine-year-old girl who accidentally shot and killed her instructor with an Uzi released a statement Tuesday conveying their devastation over the accident and asking for prayers and privacy for their family.
The family's New Jersey based lawyer, Kevin Walsh, said that the family is privately dealing with the tragedy that will change the life of their little girl. He said that they are horrified over the events that happened on what was supposed to be a fun family excursion to Las Vegas and Arizona.

The parents of the child, Alex Gen and Alison MacLachlan, gave the police a recording of the moments before the accident, showing Charles Vacca, the instructor at the Bullets and Burgers shooting range, teaching the girl how to fire the weapon and then telling her to go full auto.
The actual accident was not filmed but the shots can be heard on the video.
The Uzi recoiled upwards and towards the left, shooting Vacca in the head. He fell immediately and the girl ran towards her parents complaining of a hurt shoulder and that the gun was too heavy for her.
The family did not initially realize that Vacca had been injured until other shooting range workers went to him and called emergency services.
Police said that no charges will be filed against the family and the owner of the shooting range will review his policies on allowing children to handle weapons with adult and instructor supervision.
Although the accident has sparked numerous debates over gun safety and allowing children to handle automatic weapons, the family said they only want privacy in order to deal with the tragedy of the accident and how it will affect their daughter.
Vacca's family had also previously released a statement saying they harbor no ill-feelings and are concerned over what the child must be going through.
