Running Man Dance Craze

(Photo : YouTube) Jaylen Brantley and Jared Nickens from the University of Maryland Basketball Team created this YouTube video that made the dance craze go viral.

The Running Man Challenge is the newest dance craze to hit the Internet. Two young high school students from Hillside, New Jersey, came up with the viral dance step during a boring class in Finance. Little did Kevin Vincent and Jerry Hall realize the product of their boredom will produce a dance craze that would later take the school by storm.

After posting it on the popular social networking site Instagram, it did not take long before two cagers from the University of Maryland Basketball Team caught the craze and made a version of their own. Jaylen Brantley and Jared Nickens from the University of Maryland Basketball Team were responsible for making the dance viral. Their YouTube video of the Running Man Challenge has over 8 million views to this. It became so popular that they were featured on the Ellen Show. In their interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Jaylen and Jared revealed that the dance helped them cope up with their daily basketball practice.

Similar to other dance craze that went viral like Nae-Nae and Harlem Shake, the sheer simplicity of the steps allows a lot of room for creativity and flexibility. The basic dance step includes a back and forth motion of the body while the feet mimics a natural running motion. It can either be performed in place or while traversing the floor. Combining these steps while the '90s hit song called 'My Boo' by Ghost Town DJ's plays in the background is great.

The Running Man Challenge spread like wildfire and different groups have already posted their versions on YouTube. You can check out the video below:
