Country hitmaker Carrie Underwood is expecting her first child with NFL star husband Mike Fisher.

Last Aug. 29, the country singer still arrived for her onstage performance at the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam sporting denim shorts, a pair of cowboy boots, and a flowy white top, sparking up rumors that Underwood had been attempting to hide a baby bump.

The buzz turned out to be true after the blonde songwriter announced her big news three days later.

The "American Idol" winner took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy news last Monday. She posted a photo of herself with her dogs, wearing "I'm Going to Be a Big Brother" and "I'm Going to Be A Big Sister" t-shirts.

Underwood shared the picture with the caption: "In honor of 'Labor' Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier."

Fisher also took to social media and confirmed the news by tweeting: '"We haven't picked names yet, but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher."

The couple celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary last July. The mother-to-be has begun planning her schedules for the first two trimesters, particularly when it comes to her travel dates. Underwood is slotted to perform for only three festival dates for the rest of 2014.

Nonetheless, the pregnant singer has been keeping herself busy while working on her new album, a follow-up to her platinum selling album "Blown Away" that was released in 2012.

"I've been writing a lot. It feels really good," Underwood told The Hollywood Reporter this summer. "It's just a progression, a different sound without losing myself in it. I'm not taking some crazy musical departure from what I've done, but it definitely feels different. It will feel different, look different, sound different."

There have been no details yet about the date for her baby's delivery or the release of the new LP.
