U.S. presidential aspirant Donald Trump thought on Wednesday that London's newly elected Muslim Mayor Sadiq Khan rebuffs the idea that there is Islamic terrorism.

Khan had earlier dodged Trump's ideas about Islam as "ignorant."

"Well, I assume he denies that there's Islamic terrorism," the real estate magnate said during an interview in Kilmeade and Friends radio show.

"I mean, if you look at this, there's radical Islamic terrorism all over the world right now. It's a disaster what's going on. I assume he's denying that. I assume he's like our president that's denying it's taking place."

Trump earlier stated that he would exempt Khan from his proposed ban on Muslim immigration, should Trump win as U.S. president.

Khan immediately countered his statement, saying: "Donald Trump and those around him" think that Western liberal values are incompatible with mainstream Islam - London has proved him wrong."

Trump discussed the issue regarding the ban on Muslim immigration following the rising tide of terrorism said. Trump believed his proposed ban would prove important.

"We have a serious problem. It's a temporary ban," Trump explained, saying no one in the government has "done it."

However, Trump clarified that this was just a "suggestion until we find out what's going on."  He cited the San Bernardino, Paris and the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks as among the terrorism issues that need to be seriously considered on deciding whether or not to ban Muslims from getting in the United States.

"If they want to deny it, they can deny it," Trump said matter-of-factly.

"I don't choose to deny it."
