George Zimmerman is selling off the firearm he used to kill the defenseless teen Trayvon Martin in Florida in 2012.
Zimmerman, who used to work as a neighborhood watchman, listed the weapon for sale on the auction site gunbroker.com. He also told an Orlando news station that the weapon was returned to him by the Justice Department and that he has the permission to use it to earn money.

Zimmerman made it clear that as a free man, he is allowed to do as he wished with his possessions.
"I'm a free American," Zimmerman said in an interview with WOFL/Fox 35.
"I can do what I like with my possessions."
The bidding starts Thursday at 11 a.m. The bidding price starts at $5,000.
Zimmerman also told the radio station that the Smithsonian Institution wants to have the gun. Others also show their desire to purchase the gun "in a fashion I did not feel comfortable with."
He explained that the gun was used to defend his life against Martin, who he said was threatening him.
"The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012," he wrote on the auction site.
What will he do with the proceeds?
Zimmerman said he will use the money to "ensure the demise" of Hillary Clinton... or perhaps of her presidential dream.
In 2013, he was acquitted of second-degree murder in Florida v. George Zimmerman.
