(Photo : YouTube Screenshot) Johnny Depp, who will play Mad Hatter in the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass movie, has pranked some lucky Disneyland visitors in a magical way.

Donning his iconic character as Mad Hatter, Johnny Depp gave a magical prank surprise to his fans at Disneyland by interacting with them through a looking glass.

A large mirror appearing to be a digital promotional ad of his upcoming movie Alice Through the Looking Glass was placed in the park. While many passersby thought it was just a mere film poster, it was actually a video livestream of Johnny trying to catch onlookers' attention by performing subtle movements such as blinking, smiling, and waving.

Looking at the video footage, Depp started calling people's attention by greeting "Hello," "Pssst," or "Why you looking at me like that?"

He even cried "Ouch!" when one lady leaned against the board. He was also quoted telling a little girl "You have a wonderful cranium."

Then, out of the blue, he started calling and talking to specific people from the crowd in real-time from a remote location, the Toronto Sun reported.

"My name is Had Matter," Depp introduced himself to the excited audience.

This is not the first instance that Johnny Depp has dressed in costumes publicly to entertain people. It can be recalled that in 2009, he disguised himself as Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean series to pay a visit to the sick children of London's Great Ormond Street Hospital. He also appeared as the same character after receiving a request from a student at the Meridian Primary School in Greenwich to help stage a mutiny against teachers.

Alice Through the Looking Glass is a sequel of Alice in Wonderland film released in 2010. The tory revolves around Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska, racing with time to travel back the past and save the Mad Hatter.

The movie will open in theaters on May 27.
