Shipping records recently showed a new Motorola handset being mass transported around the world.
The model number linked with the Moto G2 device was found in the records, suggesting the next Motorola event in the coming week will unveil the Moto G2, among others.
The Moto G2 will be launched Sept. 4 but before the smartphone officially arrives.

According to a leak, the Moto G2 will cost US$445. Other rumors suggest that it costs only EUR250 in Europe and INR13,000 in India.
Notably, Brazil has huge taxes on electronics, particularly those manufactured outside of the country. The Apple iPad costs 55 percent more because of taxes.
The Moto G2 is also said to have specs that are more impressive than the 2013 release.
The first Moto G has been a best-seller worldwide. With better specs and price point, the Moto G2 may be ready to take the top sales spot for the company.
Moto G2 is said to sport a 5-inch 720p IPS LCD (294 ppi), Qualcomm MSM8227 Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, 8 MP and 1080p video rear camera and 2 MP front camera.
Several leaks from retailers in the UK suggest the global release date for the new Moto G2 is on Sept. 10.
If this is true, people can expect the carriers to offer the handset one week after its announcement. Mid-September is often mentioned.
People can also expect a major launch of three new Motorola products in the near future.
