Are you thinking of going to new places without looking at a map? A European airline company has a product that might fit your needs.
On Friday, European budget airline company EasyJet unveiled a pair of shoes that come equipped with GPS sensors. According to CNBC, the airline company promised that the shoe can help travelers go to new and unfamiliar places without the need to open a map of any kind.

The “smart-shoe” comes with sensors that use Bluetooth technology to work in tandem with smartphones, which in turn send GPS data back to the shoe. Once needed, the sensors then vibrate to tell the wearer which direction to go to.
EasyJet unveiled the shoe, dubbed “Sneakairs,” at an event in Barcelona. There, people tested the shoe by roaming around the city, using the shoe as their only guide. Sneakairs was found to be effective.
In addition to effectively guiding users to their destinations, the vibrations also help to relax wearers, said EasyJet marketing director Peter Duffy in a statement. He added that the company plans to make the revolutionary guide-shoe available on board flights.
“We are looking at making this technology available for purchase on board in the future,” Duffy said, “offering a very practical solution to those passengers who want to relax visiting a new place without the need of a map and enjoy every moment while they explore a new city."
Sneakairs are currently in the prototype testing phase.
The shoes are not the first wearable piece of technology that EasyJet has introduced. Last November, EasyJet launched LED-powered uniforms for airline cabin crew and engineers, which have been proven to be helpful in improving communication and airline safety procedures.
