Star Wars actor John Boyega has revealed that the franchise's next installment is going to be "darker and bigger." The target release date of the said movie is December 2017.

The British actor is currently in the middle of filming the movie, which is expected to be titled 'Star Wars: VIII.' Boyega revealed that the upcoming movie will be more explosive than the previous one.

The actor was all praises for director Rian Johnson, who is in charge of the latest Star Wars project. Very little has been made known about the movie's story line. The only information available is that stars such as Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Adam Driver will be returning to the stars in the latest Star Wars franchise.

When Boyega was asked by the press if the character he plays will be leaning towards the darker side, his only answer was, "I won't be in the ninth episode if I give anything away."

As for the possibility of any budding romance between his character and that of Daisy's, the actor's answer was unclear. He recalled that their characters, Rey, and Finn, were friends in the previous installment but it does not mean that there is a possibility they will be more than friends.

The actor told that fans they will just have to wait and see what is in-store for characters he and Daisy play. However, he did mention that romance will be a tricky subject in the upcoming installment and that fans might not expect where the characters' relationship could end up.
