The Eastern Conference Atlantic Division team Philadelphia 76ers got a huge victory on Tuesday night after the Joshua Harris-owned basketball team won the NBA draft lottery, which gives them the right to make the No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2016 NBA Draft on June 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn New York.

"The pain that we've all gone through, the pain of losing is real. You can't camouflage it," said team head coach Brett Brown, who represented the 76ers on stage. "The city has been incredibly patient, tolerant, choose any word you want. I think this validates some of the pain we went through."

According to ESPN, the 55-year-old Brown, who was the Australia's NBL Coach of the Year winner in 1994, revealed that the team has not yet decided who they will select to add to a young lineup that includes 20-year-old center Jahlil Okafor (Duke Blue Devils) and 22-year-old Joel Embiid (Kansas Jayhawks), who were picked third overall in the past two seasons.

The Los Angeles Lakers, who were the Western Conference-worst team performer this season after a 17-65 win-loss record finish, earned the second-highest pick. The Boston Celtics, with a pick dealt to them by the Brooklyn Nets, will have the luxury to select the third overall pick.

According to the league's official website, no NBA team has moved up in the lottery, which sets the top three picks. The rest of the 14 clubs are placed in the inverse order based on their win-loss record this season.

The 76ers finished the 2015-16 NBA season with a miserable 10-72 win-loss record, just off the worst record in the history of the 82-game schedule.

"We can now make the decision all by ourselves," said Brown. "We don't have to wait and see what someone else does. It gives us the injection we need."

LSU's Ben Simmons and Duke's Brandon Ingram are considered the top two picks.
