Recent wild rumors have emerged that Chicago is ready to swap former NBA MVP Derrick Rose for the Philadelphia Sixers' no. 1 pick in the coming draft as the Bulls want to add more youth to their aging roster.

The Chicago Tribune indicated that the Bulls are hoping "to strike luck" in the NBA Draft this June as the team intends to inject some youthful blood in their roster especially in the team's backcourt currently occupied by starters Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler.

The report specifically mentioned Providence Friars standout Kris Dunn as the Bulls' main target, although they can get him at a much lower pick than no. 1. The projected top two picks this year are LSU's Ben Simmons and Duke's Brandon Ingram.

Dunn is said to be arguably the best point guard in this year's draft class and Chicago is keen on selecting "a point guard no matter where they land".

The Bulls ended up with the 14th pick after Tuesday's draft lottery, hence they might have to trade up in order to achieve their goal of acquiring Dunn.

Earlier rumors mentioned that Chicago is willing to trade Rose this summer as the club is allegedly ready to move on with Butler as their main man.

The 2011 MVP is set to become an unrestricted free agent next summer and so instead of losing him for nothing when that time comes, speculations abound that the Bulls may try to deal him or at least test his market value before that happens.

NBA.com's Scott Howard-Cooper reported that Sixers GM Bryan Colangelo intimated that the team "may look to trade a top-five pick if it ends up with two when the lottery order is determined" as they also want to have a veteran point guard in their fold to play alongside young players Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, and Dario Saric.

Trading for Rose would have been ideal if Philadelphia had two picks in the top five. However, the team landed only one, which is the no. 1 overall selection for that matter, and so it is highly unlikely that they will give it up for Rose at this point.
