Public Says Miss Hong Kong 2014 Results Were Rigged

Controversial results from the Miss Hong Kong 2014 pageant finals last Sunday have given rise to speculation that the voting system was rigged.
According to media reports, TVB has used various ways for the public and the panel of judges to be able to vote for the contestants during the pageant. The network has even made use of an application for people to use to choose the winner for the contest before the top three finalists were announced. This, however, didn't stop the public from complaining about the results.

According to online data, Contestant #11 Sofiee Ng, who was a favorite among the 16 contestants, is said to have garnered a higher number of votes than that of the three finalists.
Other than that, the public is basing their observation on Eric Tsang's reaction when Sofiee Ng wasn't able to make it to the top three as he was the MC for the event. According to sources, he can't seem to believe that Veronica Shui was crowned Miss Hong Kong 2014 when Sofiee Ng was already expected to win.
The top three finalists went to a press conference the previous day in order to address the rumors regarding the results of the pageants. The current holder of the title, Veronica Shui, stated that the results were brought about by the majority's decision and that the public should respect the results.
When asked about her opinion regarding the negativity that surrounded her victory, Veronica said she was happy about it and that she was confident with herself. She had also added that she has given an impressive performance.
"All of the 10 contestants did well, but perhaps some candidates stood out more," the Miss Hong Kong 2014 said.
The reaction of the event's MC has also been pointed out to her, but she said that she's got Nat Chan and Chin Ka Lok's support, so she is confident about it.
