Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has finally opened up about rumors circulating that he is about to marry his alleged girlfriend Lulia Vantur.

The 50-year-old actor dismissed the rumors that he is engaged to the 35-year-old Romanian model and TV presenter Lulia Vantur and is set to marry her soon.

"These are just rumors as you said yourself. If I had got engaged or was getting married, I wouldn't wait for the news to leak out. I would announce it myself, it would be a proud moment for me. I know the whole country would be happy for me," Khan said in an interview with Mumbai Mirror newspaper.

When asked about his marriage plans at IIFA 2016 in Mumbai, the actor said, "When I am getting married, I will tweet it."

"That's my thing! When I want to get married, I will get married. I don't need to tell you when I am getting married.  When I am getting married, I will tweet it. That is something I will keep it to me and my fans," he said.

Rumors have been making rounds that the 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' actor will get married to Vantur in October this year. The couple's recent public appearance together at actress Preity Zinta's wedding reception fuelled the speculations about his marriage.

Khan and Vantur first met during the shooting of 'Bodyguard' movie. Since then, the Romanian beauty has been spotted with Salman in several family functions. There have been speculations about Khan's marriage since his acquittal in a 2002 hit-and-run case earlier this month. The Bombay High Court acquitted Khan of all charges in the crash that left two homeless people dead.

Salman Khan is currently busy with shooting of his next film 'Sultan.' The biopic on Haryana-based wrestler Sultan Ali Khan is scheduled to be released on Eid this year.
