Xiaomi Mi Max: How Does the New Phone Stack Up Against the Sony Xperia Z5?

Chinese tech manufacturing company, Xiaomi, is a new comer in the tight smartphone market. Having launched in 2010, the company has since introduced several impressive handsets that has gotten more established brands worried. Less than two weeks ago, Xiaomi unveiled yet another smartphone that would give manufacturers like Apple, Sony and Samsung a run for their money.

The Xiaomi Mi Max, which was announced in May 10, seems to be a cut above the rest. But how does the Chinese manufactured phone stack up against more popular flagship models like the Sony Xperia Z5?
Below is a comparison of the Xiaomi Mi Max and the Sony Xperia Z5:
Design
With 6.44" of display, the MiMax is the largest handset in the market to date. Despite the massive screen, the phone is still handy, compact and light. It is 7.55mm thick and weighs less than a fourth of a kilogram at 203 grams. According to the official announcement on the Miui page, the Xioami Mi Max comes in white, gold and silver variants.
On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 is more conventional than the Mi Max. The phone, which was released in October last year, has 5.15 inch screen display. The handset itself is 7.3mm thick and weighs 154 grams.
Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi Max is powered by either a Snapdragon 652 or 650 processor. It boasts of a formidable battery capacity of 4850 mAh and is equipped with a fingerprint sensor. The handset has 4GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Its camera is just as impressive as the rest of the handset with 16 MP for the rear and 5 MP for the front camera.
The Sony Xperia Z5 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. It has 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The battery capacity of the Z5 pales into comparison with the Mi Max clocking it at only 2900 mAh. However, the Z5's primary camera is a force to be reckoned with clocking it at 23 MP.
Price
Depending on the processor and storage, the Xiaomi Mi Max sells for $230 to $305. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia Z5 currently sells for around $500.
