Five straight Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC extended their winning streak to nine games as they routed Liaoning Whowin FC, 3-0, on Saturday at the West Stadium in Shenyang to remain at the top spot of the current China top flight table.
Xinhuanet noted that the longest winning run in CSL history was done by Shandong Luneng a decade ago as they stringed 13 straight victories.

Guangzhou had not lost a game since their opening day 1-2 road defeat to Chongqing Lifan FC to continue to dominate the first division domestic competitions in the said Far East nation.
The Southern China Tigers' incessant supremacy in their home country has somehow eased the pressure off under fire head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, whose team had failed to advance past the group stage of this season's AFC Champions League competitions after winning it in two of the last three years.
Team captain Zheng Zhi, arguably the best midfielder in China, received a pass from resident striker Gao Lin and scored his first goal of the season at the 18th minute to give Guangzhou an early one-point lead, as per CCTV.
The lead doubled at the 36th as it was Zheng's turn to provide an assist to Brazilian import Alan Carvalho, making it 2-0 for Evergrande at the halftime break.
Guangzhou remained in control of the ball after the restart and another Brazilian international, midfielder Ricardo Goulart, netted the third goal of the contest off an Alan cross to complete the visitors three-goal haul.
Meanwhile, contrary to the defending champs, it was the Northeast Tigers' ninth consecutive winless performance since their 1-0 victory over Shijiazhuang Ever Bright FC in their season-opener.
Liaoning was coming off two straight drawn matches, against Hangzhou Greentown and Shanghai Shenhua respectively, before they succumbed to their fourth loss of the term. The team is now at the bottom two relegation area, only two points ahead of cellar dwellers Changchun Yatai FC.
