Trump's huge supporter base was highlighted after the Indiana primaries, which saw both Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Ohio Governor John Kasich drop out of the race.

Trump has been an untraditional candidate in the GOP race, and he has always highlighted the fact that he is the outsider among all the candidates. However, this, being a strong point in his campaign, has made six out of 10 Americans become concerned about his lack of experience in the political arena.

As per the polls, only five percent of American voters were enthusiastic about his lack of experience while 15 percent said they are comfortable with it. Up to 19 percent said that they have some reservations over the matter, and another 19 percent said it made no difference. A total of 42 percent from the polling sample said they were very uncomfortable that Trump lacked government and military experience.

The pollling group was made up of 68 percent women, 60 percent independents, Republican Primary voters (a third), and 78 percent undecided voters. Trump has said that due to his inexperience, he will be looking at a running mate who is experienced in the government.

In another survey, Trump was deemed to be better placed to change the business in Washington, protect the United States' interest regarding trade issues, deal with Wall Street, deal with the economy in general, and stand up for the United States.

Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, was seen to be better when it comes to dealing with immigration, making appointments at the Supreme Court, looking out for the middle class, handling foreign policies, uniting the country, and dealing with issues concerning women.

Despite Clinton high approval ratings, Trump is shown to be leading with 0.2 percentage points on the RealClearPolitics polling data site. This is the first time that Trump has come out on top of the RealClearPolitics polling average.
