“Peter Pan Live”: Allison Williams Shares First Photo As Boy Who Never Grows Up for Upcoming Musical

NBC has released the first photo of Alison Williams all decked out in her costume as Peter Pan for the upcoming telecast of Peter Pan Live!

The "Girls" actress went on the "Today" show last Wednesday to talk about her latest look and admitted that she had been prepared for a major hairdo overhaul - to cut off her long locks to become the boy who never grows up.

"I sort of very tentatively offered to cut my hair; I was like, 'You know, if it's a thing that would help I could cut my hair,'" she said.

It turned out that the team had another trouble-free plan for her hair - wear a wig.

"And they were like, 'You're welcome to do that, we're still gonna put you in a wig'," Williams said.

The 26-year-old actress also took to social media and shared the first photo of herself as Peter Pan on her Instagram account with the caption: ""The transformation begins! My first shoot as Pan."

She further wrote: "Fun fact: I was all ready to cut my hair, then was told by the folks who actually know what they're doing that a wig works better for everybody."

As she took on the role of the iconic Disney character, news anchor Brian Williams' daughter can be seen sitting on top of a ship sporting her version of the traditional green outfit with a contemporary twist of fishnet sleeves.

The Yale University graduate admitted that it has been her longtime dream to take on the role of Peter Pan since she was "really, really little."

"It's an absolute dream come true; the whole process just as it (is) sort of starting to get going is so fun; already I can only imagine what the next couple of weeks and months are going to bring," Williams said on "Today."

She also gushed about the live features of "Peter Pan," the most fun aspect of the adaptation.

"That's what makes it exciting that it's theater, but it's right in the comfort of your own home. That's what attracted me to it," Williams said.

"Peter Pan Live!" has been slotted to air Dec. 4 on NBC.
