Apple MacBook Release Date Revealed, New Specifications Detailed

Apple intends to release a "thinner and lighter" MacBook Pro later this year along with new helpful features.

On Tuesday, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that the device's design is inspired by its 12-inch predecessor. The device is expected to support Touch ID and will have an OLED screen display, according to 9to5Mac.

According to Kuo, the device's updates will be the "brightest spot for Apple's 2016 rollouts." The new MacBook Pro is expected to come in two varieties, a 13-inch and 15-inch models with startup prices of $1,299 and $1,999 respectively.

Back in April, reports surfaced that Apple was planning to equip the MacBook Pro with Touch ID technology, Siri integration, and an OLED display touch bar that will replace the function keys on top.

New physical hardware is expected to be included in the device's specifications such as Skylake processors and AMD's 400-series Polaris graphic cards to upgrade its overall performance.

The design of the device will also feature new metal injection molded hinges. Furthermore, there are speculations that the upcoming new device will have a Thunderbolt 3 along with USB-C function.

Kuo expects Apple to release three MacBook Pro device in 2016. With regards to the device's release date, there were rumors that it will hit the market in July. However, there are speculations that it will be available in stores during the Q4 of this year.
