The State Council issued "Opinions about Speeding up Information Consumption Promotion to Expand Domestic Demand" on August 14, clearly putting forward the goal to develop information consumption into a scale of over ¥3.2 trillion by 2015.
In order to clear the way for the rapid development of information consumption, the "Opinions" required to speed up the evolution and updates of information infrastructure.
"Not only plan to improve the broadband network infrastructure and to promote the development of mobile communications as a whole, but also advance integration of three networks".
Information consumption was mentioned mainly by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), but now the publishing of "Opinions" has shown that, information consumption has been lifted to the perspective of national strategy, an expert said in an interview with International Financial Newspaper's reporter.
At present, because China's economy is facing downward pressure, promoting information consumption has great significance to achieve steady economic growth and to realize economic restructuring, the expert thinks.
