Florida Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz apologized on Thursday over her "anti-women" comments about Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), previously said Gov. Walker gave "women the back of his hand" with his policies. She later on told CBS News that she regretted using those words.

In spite of her slip, the congresswoman continued to insist that Walker's policies were not good for the women of Wisconsin. She was pertaining to his moves to mandate ultrasounds, repeal the equal pay policy and block preventive health care funding, the New York Daily News detailed.
During a roundtable discussion about women's issues in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Schultz lambasted Walker's anti-abortion proposal. The event was hosted by Democratic Wisconsin Representative Gwen Moore.
Talking about the anti-abortion platform, Schultz said the policy was Walker's way of giving women the "back of his hand," based on a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report. She called Walker an "extremist" who wants to grab women "by the hair" and pull them back.
Walker, in turn, responded by saying the statement was a "new low."
Republicans were quick to condemn the charged words and urged Democratic candidate Mary Burke to denounce them, the Huffington Post said.
On Wednesday, Republican Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch conveyed her shock at Schultz's use of domestic violence issues in political debates. She called out the motive for the remarks as "despicable."
Although Burke is running against Walker in the gubernatorial polls, her team detached the candidate from Schultz's scathing remarks about Walker's record. In addition, the DNC also distanced itself from the insulting words of its chairwoman.
A Republican Governors Association representative called Schultz's statement "appalling and shameful."
Meanwhile, Gov. Walker's team tried to use the controversy to raise campaign money via Twitter and email. His campaign sent solicitation messages saying the donation will be used to "fight back" Schultz's lies.
