Salling has been charged with two counts of possessing child pornography. The former "Glee" star, 33, allegedly received videos and still images of child pornography involving young girls on December 29, 2015, according to the United States Attorney's Office.
Salling was arrested at his home in Shadow Hills in December 2015 after Los Angeles police officers and federal agents seized a laptop, hard drive and flash drive that allegedly contain pornographic images and videos. The investigators are still reviewing thousands of images and videos of child pornography.
"Those who download and possess child pornography create a market that causes more children to be harmed," U.S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker said. Young victims are continually harmed every time an image is generated, viewed and distributed, Decker added.
History of Sexual Abuse
Back in January 2013, Salling was also sued by an ex-girlfriend for sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence. Roxanne Gorzela claimed that Salling pushed to the ground during an argument after she was forced to have sex without a condom. Gorzela eventually dropped the charges after Salling agreed to pay her $2.7 million.
Salling, through his attorney, agreed to surrender to authorities on June 3. He is expected to be arraigned on the indictment on the same date. According to the press release, Salling could be sentenced to 20 years in prison for each of the charges.
