Six men were arrested by Afghan police in relation to a gang rape incident in Kabul City, which involved an 18-year-old girl and a pregnant woman, report state on Tuesday.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Police Chief Gen. Zahir Zahir presented the suspects, stating that their capture will finally lend him peaceful sleep as he has been unable to do so since receiving the report regarding the shocking rape incident. The perpetrators faced their victims on Tuesday.

The unnamed victims have positively identified all six suspects who were allegedly part of a 16-member gang in the Afghan capital.
Early on August 23, a group of four women were assaulted by armed men as they returned from a wedding. The women were said to have been accompanied by some of their relatives.
The perpetrators, who were disguised as Afghan police and armed with assault rifles, reportedly dragged the women on the streets, then robbed and assaulted them. The suspects then tied up the women's male relatives, who were placed within earshot as they violated their female kin.
Three witnesses stopped to help the victims, but were beaten by the bandits.
Noorullah, one of the eye witnesses, described that he and his friends were badly injured after the encounter. Despite his injuries, however, he could still remember the horrifying cries of the female victims.
"They took the women out of the cars and harassed them...a lot," he stated adding that the women had been raped until 2 a.m.
Unfortunately, not all victims had survived the attack. Reports state that one, only described as an 18-year-old woman, had died while being treated in the hospital on Tuesday.
The grisly incident shocked many in the conservative Afghan city where rape cases normally go unnoticed and unpunished.
In a unique instance, Afghan President Hamid Karzai publicly expressed his protest against rape. He declared that he would not hesitate to order for the execution of the women's assailants.
Afghan authorities confirmed that they are currently working on the arrest of the other suspects.
