The release date of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to be in June or in October. However, there are contradicting claims that the Surface Pro 5 will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2017 in time for Microsoft's upgraded operating system.
Looking at the release date of previous Surface Pro devices, it is possible that the Surface Pro5 will be released later this year. The first Surface Pro was revealed in February 2013, while Surface Pro 2 was in October 2013. The Surface Pro 3 was introduced in June 2014 and the latest Surface Pro 4 was unveiled in October 2015.

Surface Pro 5 to Feature Kaby Lake Processor
According to Christian Daily, there is a big chance that the launch of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will coincide with the release of the anticipated update for Microsoft Windows 10 named Redstone. Hence, gadget aficionados are expecting Surface Pro 5 to carry the upgraded operating system.
Microsoft is reportedly looking to use the new Kaby Lake processor from Intel on the new device, MobiPicker reported.
Surface Pro 5 to Compete With iPad Pro
Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 will go head-to-head with Apple's iPad Pro when it hits the market. Apple is reportedly fitting the MacBook Pro 2016 with Skylake processors and Microsoft wants to precede the hybrid laptops by using the next generation Kaby Lake processor.
This might be the best reason why the launch of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is being delayed.
