Badminton World Federation's current men's doubles world No. 8 tandem Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen of Denmark are set to heat up the competition in this week's tournament when they return to play top level badminton on Wednesday in the ongoing BCA Indonesia Open 2016 at the Istola Galera Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.

The 2012 Summer Olympics Men's Doubles silver medalist duo have missed many badminton events over the past few months due to issues with Mogensen's health.  The 32-year-old was diagnosed with intracranial aneurysm and underwent emergency brain surgery late this past winter.

"My condition is getting better and better. A few months ago it was one of the biggest challenges in my life when we were in Russia. When I came back to Denmark, after that, I didn't practice but did some fitness training because I really wanted to come back at least at the same level. So I'm fighting about my condition," Mogensen told reporters during the press briefing.

According to Badzine, the native of Roskilde had no physical manifestations until the Danish shuttler suddenly passed out at a hotel while in Kazan, Russia for the 2016 European Team Championships in February. The national men's team of Denmark was the eventual winner of the European qualification for the 2016 Thomas & Uber Cup.

On Wednesday, the Danish pair will be facing the Chinese youngsters Liu Yuchen and Li Jinhui. The Chinese duo bagged the silver medal in the Asian Championships in Wuhan, China in April.

Li and Liu currently sit on the 10th spot in the BWF world rankings. The tandem have amassed a total of 58,439 points in the 19 tournaments that they have competed in. They already have also won prize money worth US$83,830.00.

The Indonesia Open is part of BWF's Superseries Premier. The tournament will run from May 30 to June 5.
