Asus has officially unveiled its 2-in-1 laptop, the Transformer 3, which will go head-to-head with the Microsoft Surface Pro line once it hits the market. The new Transformer 3 Pro promises to keep pace or even exceed what the Surface Pro has to offer.

According to AnandTech, the Transformer 3 Pro promises to give users superb processing power as it features an Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU with up to 1TB, PCIe X4 storage.

The Transformer 3 Pro has up to 16GB of RAM and connectivity options include HDMI, USB Type-A, MicroSD. It also has a USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt 3 connection just like the main Transformer 3.

Asus' upcoming flagship device has a massive 12.6-inch display with 2880 x 1920 display and 8.33mm-thick. It features a sRGB mode which is 22 percent broader compared to Surface Pro 4, Laptop Mag reported.

The Transformer Pro 3 will give users a bang with its speaker which is four times louder than the Surface Pro's.

Asus has not yet announced the release date for the Transformer 3 or Transformer 3 Pro. However, the Transformer 3 has a starting price of $799, while the Transformer 3 Pro Core i5 or Core i7 will begin with $999.
