Fans of the ABC show "Grey's Anatomy" will be seeing more of Meredith Grey as the actress playing her role has signed a contract for the 13th season of the long-running series.
Ellen Pompeo, the lead actress of the show, has dispelled reports that she will no longer be part of the series for its upcoming season by signing the contract, a representative of the actress confirmed. However, the details of her new contract remain unknown.

Pompeo's latest deal reportedly makes her one of the highest-paid actresses on TV. She is said to be earning more than $300,000 per episode. In 2015, Forbes named Pompeo as the fourth highest-earning actress.
In the recently-wrapped Season 12 of "Grey's Anatomy," the show focused on Meredith being a widow. She lost her husband, Dr. McDreamy, played by Patrick Dempsey, in the season 11 finale. After the departure of Dempsey, the show added Martin Henderson for the role of Nathan "McKiwi" Riggs. Most of the co-stars of Pompeo are expected to return for Season 13.
The last season of "Grey's Anatomy" enjoyed a six percent jump in ratings as compared to Season 11 among the 18-49 viewers. Also, there was a double-digit increase among women viewers aged 18-34.
However, Sara Ramirez, the actress who played the role of Dr. Callie Torres, announced that she was leaving the show after ten years. She said in a statement that she is deeply grateful that she was able to spend ten years of her career with her family at Grey's Anatomy, but she has to leave to take some time off.
"Shonda's been so incredible to work for and we will definitely continue our conversations! I send my Love to Ellen, the rest of the cast & crew, and I look forward to always being a part of the Shondaland family!" Ramirez added.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will be airing Thursdays on ABC this fall.
