Destiny, the much anticipated online "mythic science fiction" shooter, will launch Sept. 9 on different gaming consoles.
Fans will also get a great offer but for a limited time.

Activision and Bungie announced a digital upgrade for Destiny for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In addition, gamers will get a free upgrade to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version.
This offer applies to all Destiny content. It means that gamers will still get the base game and any other bells and whistles they've collected like Digital Guardian Edition, the Expansion Pass, season passes and DLC straight to their PS4 or Xbox One.
This offer is only good until January 15, 2015, however. Gamers can only upgrade within the console family like PS3 to PS4 or Xbox 360 to Xbox One.
Game fans need to buy a downloadable version of the game from the chosen last-gen console.
Gamers' character stats in Destiny can carry back and forth between last-gen and current-gen. Gamers can play for 10 hours with friends on PS3 then to PS4 without losing all their progress.
The "saved data" is transferable between versions within the same console family.
One thing to remember: the offer only applies to the downloadable Destiny and not the physical, boxed version of the game. So, the upgrade is not for free for everyone.
The free upgrade also works backwards. If you buy Xbox One then you have a free Xbox 360 version. Same goes with the PS4 to PS3.
The game will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and video game consoles.
