"Grey's Anatomy" lead star Ellen Pompeo recently signed a new contract to appear in the 13^th season of the hit ABC series.

According to Deadline, Pompeo's new and updated contract confirms that the actress will receive $300,000 per episode.

Meanwhile, even though "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 was already confirmed by ABC beforehand, it was revealed by TV Line that not all cast members' contracts will be renewed.

Just recently, Justin Chambers hinted at finalizing a new deal with the network and Shondaland.

Back in March, the actor who plays the role of Alex Karev responded to a fan who asked if he will return to "Grey's Anatomy" for its 13^th season.

Other cast members whose contracts are up for renewal include Kevin McKidd, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr.

Earlier this year, McKidd already hinted on the possibility that he would return to the show for more episodes next season.

While speaking with TV Line, the actor said, "I don't see any reason why it wouldn't happen. I love the show. I'm not being corny or giving you the party line, but this has been like a family to me."

In other news, Wilson and Pickens Jr's new contracts are yet to be finalized.

However, it is highly likely that both cast members will return to the show because of the major roles that they play.

Wilson gives life to the character of Dr. Miranda Bailey, who also happens to be the newest chief at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Just recently, Dr. Bailey and her husband Dr. Ben Warren (Jason George) went through a rough patch in their marriage.

Pickens Jr., on the other hand, plays the role of Dr. Webber. The character used to be the chief of surgery at the hospital. Now, he still operates on patients, but he also serves as the balancer among the doctors.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will return to ABC sometime this year.
