Jessica Alba may be a sexy and hot momma now but the actress revealed that during her younger years in the Hollywood industry, she was not comfortable at all being a virgin sex symbol.

The Golden Globe-nominated actress told InStyle magazine that back when she was 19 years old, her sexuality made her very uncomfortable. She shared, "I remember my first Maxim shoot, they were telling me to pose a certain way, and I was like, 'Agh! I'm 19. I'm a virgin. I don't even know how to do that.' It was so awkward."

The Honest Company co-founder is one of People magazine's most beautiful as well as the number one in Maxim's Hot 100 list. However, it was not what she wished for initially.

The Fantastic Four star said that when she was younger, she went through a life crisis because she felt that she was so much more than just a sex symbol. The 35-year-old pointed out that she wanted to be seen as something else but she did not know how not to be a sex symbol.

One of the possible reasons why Alba did not adapt too well with Hollywood was because she was seen as more of a tomboy and preferred cargo pants over dresses. If that wasn't enough, Jessica was raised in a Catholic household and the first time she wore a dress and heels was when she had to attend the Golden Globes.

Alba went on to open up about her childhood, "I was definitely born different. I loved to challenge authority. I was a very difficult child to parent. I was hyper. I didn't sleep a lot. And being sick so often and being in and out of the hospital so much made it hard to form relationships."

In spite of these challenges, Alba went on to successfully play sultry roles in Sin City, Dark Angel and Into the Blue. The actress has become the screen siren of the action genre of movies but only identified with the image shaped for her when she was 25 years old.

Alba has not been seen on the big screen for quite some time now but will soon be seen playing the role of Gina in the upcoming Mechanic: Resurrection. Although it still goes with her Hollywood virgin sex symbol, she said that her character in the film is tough and kicks ass, which is the reason why she signed on for the action-thriller, which is a sequel to the 2011 film, The Mechanic.

Alba is married to film producer Cash Warren and the couple have two daughters together; seven-year-old Honor and four-year-old Haven.
