Jaunt has revealed that Chinese pop group SNH48 will be invited to perform for guests during the launch of the company in China. At the event, Jaunt will also reveal the new VR company's first application to be released in China. Additionally, attendees will also get a chance to participate in virtual tours around China.
"We are thrilled to partner with SMG and CMC to be the first US-based company to launch a full-scale, end-to-end virtual reality production and distribution platform in China," David Anderman, chief business officer for Jaunt said. "With the establishment of Jaunt China, we are well-positioned to meet the demand for premium VR content from a rapidly growing international audience."
Analysts say Jaunt may be taking a risk by setting up a VR company outside the US as buyers are still a bit hesitant to accept the new technology. However, Jaunt's decision to collaborate with Shanghai Media Group and China Media Capital is expected to help the new venture to succeed.
