Intel launched its new Intel Core M processor at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany.
Intel's new fifth-generation Core processors will power new 2 in 1 devices from different electronic manufacturers like ASUS, HP, Acer, Lenovo, Dell, and Toshiba. They are built on a new architecture called Broadwell.

Core M processors are currently on their way to PC makers for a planned release at the end of the year.
The semiconductor chip maker wants to deliver an optimal blend of mobility and performance with its new processor. Core M was purpose-built for impressive performance in the thinnest and fan-less ultra-mobile devices.
It can actually power razor-thin devices with Intel Core processor-level performance and double battery life.
Departing from the old 22 nanometer production process, the Core M processor became a cutting-edge 14 nanometers to increase the power efficiency up to 50 percent. Graphic performance will improve by up to 40 percent.
The old 22 nm required 18 watts of power while Core M chips only need around 4.5 watts.
The hardware size decreased, too. It is now 30 x 16.5 x 1.05 millimeters thick from its previous 40 x 24 x 1.5 millimeters.
"We've been on a multi-year mission to address end-user requirements and transform mobile computing," said Kirk Skaugen, senior vice president and general manager of personal computing at Intel.
Skaugen added that introducing Core M will be the benchmark of a new product family designed to deliver the promise of one of the world's thinnest laptops and highest performance tablets in a single 2 in 1 device.
Intel's improvement in its processors will allow gadget makers to build a wider variety of thinner and fan-less designs.
Intel also claims that a new notebook or 2-in-1 device powered with a Core M processor can be up to three times thinner, and 50 percent lighter than its ultra-portable device from 2010.
