On September 10th, websites will take part in an "Internet Slowdown" to show their support for net neutrality.
These websites will post a symbolic "loading" icons on their websites to show what will happen to them if the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) continues to push Internet "fast lanes" that will totally kill-off net neutrality.

Usually, this kind of campaign won't be too important for netizens. This campaign, however, grabbed the attention of one of the internet's most important websites: porn sites.
Several top porn sites said they'll join the movement and made this known at Reddit. A representative from Pornhub said that Redtube, Pornhub and Youporn will all participate in the Sept. 10Internet Slowdown.
The porn sites won't intentionally slow down their porn videos. Rather, they'll post a "a big in-your-face message that users will need to close" before they can proceed watching their chosen videos.
The three famous porn sites are hopeful they can educate upwards of 50 million people regarding the need for net neutrality.
The Internet Slowdown was developed to counter an FCC proposal that will allow internet service providers (ISPs) to create "fast lanes" that will let companies pay more money to get their content much faster over an ISP's last mile networks.
Fight for the Future is the group behind the campaign. Reddit, Foursquare, Vimeo, Wordpress and Boing Boing are just some of the biggest websites that have joined the campaign.
A lot of popular tech companies including Facebook, Google, Amazon, Netflix and Microsoft, are all against the FCC proposal.
