Google's Android N OS is expected to hit the market soon, and its new Nexus hardware should be ready by now. Previous rumors claimed that Taiwanese smartphone maker, HTC is the sole manufacture of the Nexus having all the manufacturing rights, and is expecting to build at least two devises for Google this year.

However, it is now emerging that this may not be the case since Huawei, which made the Nexus 6P last year just reveled that it is working on a new brand for the Android N. The news was disclosed by a South African Huawei executive during an interview. The interview was largely about last year's Nexus 6P. Huawei has not yet commented on the same, but it is unlikely that it will contradict this information.
Very few people buy the Nexus despite it being a very nice product favored by tech lovers. Speaking on Gear Burn, Charlene Munilall, Huawei's general manager for consumer business group in South Africa gave an explanation as to why Nexus 6P was not introduced in the region. Munilall went ahead to confirm that consumers fears that Google and wireless carriers are not in a good working relationship, but insisted that Huawei will introduce a new Nexus device this year.
Although Google has not announced any new Nexus hardware, it will continue to release the devices; this is according Google's Sundar Pichai as disclosed in an interview. The software giant will also be more involved in production of the Nexus devices. He also revealed that the future Nexus devices may not run stock devices but instead they would focus on software upgrades to the devices.
On a separate interview with The Wall Street Journal, Huawei director Richard Yu promised customers a Daydream-ready phone by the end of the year. Customers are still debating whether the new Nexus phone will have Daydream capabilities - a new Android VR platform launched by Google.
