Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is expected to unveil its latest device called the Metal 2 smartphone at an event the company is hosting on June 13. Earlier this week, the upcoming device received certification from China's telecommunications certifications authority (TENAA).

This news comes out after the Chinese company posted an image of an upcoming event on its official Weibo account. There are rumors that Meizu will be expanding its Blue Charm Lineup by unveiling the Metal 2. The smartphone is the successor of the Meizu Metal smartphone that was launched in October last year.

Earlier this week, the smartphone was spotted on TENAA. The listing revealed an upcoming Meizu smartphone with model number L681C - this has been confirmed to be the Meizu Metal 2 smartphone. As per listing, the upcoming Metal 2 smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) display screen and will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.8GHz processor along with powerful Mali T860 GPU.

The device is equipped with 2GB of RAM onboard and comes with a built-in 16GB internal memory storage. The listing also revealed that there will be a 3GB RAM variant of the Metal 2, accompanied by 32GB internal memory storage. The device will feature a microSD card slot for expansion.

On the camera front, the Meizu Metal 2 smartphone is expected to feature a 13-megapixel main camera with dual-LED flash support, coupled with a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system based on the company's very own Flyme user interface. It is packed with a massive 4000mAh capacity battery and comes with a full metallic appearance.

The smartphone is slim as it only measures a body dimension of 153.6 x 75.6 x 8.3mm and weighs 166gms. Connectivity options of Metal 2 smartphone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/ 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS support.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the upcoming Meizu Metal 2 smartphone will be priced at CNY 999 (USD $152.14) for the 16GB variant, and CNY 1,199 (USD $304.43) for the 32GB variant.
