Mexico takes on Uruguay in its opening match of Copa America 2016 at the University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale in Arizona on Sunday. The de facto home team Mexico is looking to capitalize its current form against title favorites Uruguay.

"We arrive [at the tournament] in a very good moment. With the talent and commitment of the players, combined with the strategy and the way they are carrying out the plans we have decided on, Mexico have a great chance [to win the Copa America]," Mexican Coach Juan Carlos Osorio said. "This is football and anything can happen, but hopefully the dream of the Mexican public is the same dream of the players. We want it to take us far."

In a massive set back to Uruguay ahead of its first Copa American outing, team's star striker Luis Suarez has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.  

"He is a footballer that always surprises us with his recovery, but he is not ready yet," Coach Oscar Tabarez said while confirming the news at a press conference on Saturday.
