Chinese Super League powerhouse Shanghai SIPG FC offered a £75,000-a-week salary package to Liverpool's Martin Skrtel and the Slovak defender is said to be considering the offer, according to recent reports.

The Daily Star indicated that Red Eagles head coach Sven-Göran Eriksson is "looking to sign" the 31-year-old backfield veteran this summer. Shanghai is said to be more than capable to meet Skrtel's £6 million release clause and to also match his current £75,000 weekly wage with the Reds.

Skrtel, who had been left out of the first team by new Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp, said to have only appeared in five English top flight games since December of last year and "will almost certainly end his eight-year stay at Anfield".

According to his agent, Karol Csonto, the 6-foot-3 Handlová, Czechoslovakia native is "90 percent sure" of leaving Merseyside in the summer and that he had also attracted the interest of Besiktas JK, a top Turkish football club.

"Besiktas is one of those interested in Martin but we're haven't reached a point where I can confirm Martin is going there, or anywhere else," Csonto said. "But I can say that it is 90 per cent sure Martin will leave Liverpool, but it is far from closed."

Aside from SIPG and Besiktas, the Slovakia international is also being pursued by newly-promoted English Premier League side Middlesbrough FC, as per 90min.

The Boro is said to be also prepared to pay Liverpool the £6 million transfer fee for the Slovak if he decides to stay in England's domestic first domestic competitions next season.

The report also noted that "some Liverpool fans" are still keen on having him play at the Anfield moving forward despite his advancing age, and so seeing him wear red for another team next season would surely disappoint the said supporters.

As of the moment, Skrtel has not officially decided yet who among his three options will he choose, but what is almost sure is that he will exit Liverpool this offseason.
