They said that unsolicited job offers were mostly beneficial to people who needs them the most or to people who have been looking for a full time job for a long time.

However, researchers found out that unsolicited job offers are not good for people who were employed for a long time and actually don't need them.

Researchers theorize that employed individuals feel this way because they feel they're less capable than the person offering the job.

Lijun Song, one of the researchers, said that this kind of social comparison is not good for the mental health of the employed person getting the job offer.

Researchers believe that their study answered questions on previous studies that examined the effects of social support on health.

However, the researchers believe that their observation doesn't necessarily apply to other kinds of social support.

The research was published as "Does Receiving Unsolicited Support Help or Hurt? Receipt of Unsolicited Job Leads and Depression."

They used the 2004 to 2005 data that focused on the effects of unsolicited job that caused depressive symptoms on working-age American adults.

The story came from the Vanderbilt University that was done by Lijun Song and Wenchong Chen.
