Zootopia's International Gross Passes $1B Mark

Zootopia earns more than $1 billion in the international market, becoming one of the only four animated movies to the cross the mark, without inflation adjustment.

Despite all odds, Disney Animation Studios' Zootopia becomes the studio's second movie this to claim the feat following Captain America: Civil War.

Likewise, Zootopia is only the fourth animated movie break gross over $1 billion after Disney Animation's Frozen ($1.277 billion), Illumination Entertainment's Minions ($1.159 billion) and Pixar's Toy Story 3 ($1.063 billion), without adjusting the gross for inflation.

Zootopia achieved this status 17 weeks after its release. It has earned $337.2 million in the North American market and $662.8 million from the foreign market.

So far, 11 of the 26 films that are members of the elite billion-dollar club are from Disney.

Zootopia is the 55th animated feature in Walt Disney Animated's classics series. Director by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, the film features the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, Jenny Slate, Nate Torrence, Tommy Chong, J. K. Simmons, Octavia Spencer, Alan Tudyk, and Shakira.

The film tells the story of an unlikely partnership and, eventually, friendship of a rabbit police officer and a red fox con artist while they quest to unveil a conspiracy that led to the disappearance of predator civilians inside the mammalian metropolis.
