Last year, Egypt's pyramids were scanned for the first time with the help of the ScanPyramids project to unlock the secrets of the labyrinthine tombstone of the the world's most famous pharaohs. In this new study, scientists are now utilizing this new telescope that can also scan these massive structures.

This new highly advanced telescope is developed by scientists of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission that uses muon particles that are often found in cosmic rays. The team's goal is to utilize this new scanning device to visualize and pinpoint exactly the hidden locations of the chambers and other crucial undiscovered structures and rooms as well.

According to Yasser Elshayeb from Cairo University, this study is about discovering what lies inside the Giza Pyramids along with other pyramids and uncover hidden parts and secrets we currently not know about.

The first part of the team's plan is to focus on the known areas of the pyramids and after covering their bases, the team will now delve into the unknown parts and sections of the pyramids, where they will be able reveal their findings in July.

According to famed archaeologist and former antiquities minister of Egypt, Zahi Hawass, this is currently ongoing and if this scanning manages to detect any of the main three chambers that we already know of, then we will continue scanning.

Last year, thermal scans revealed some intriguing major anomalies inside the ancient structures that included three adjacent stones possessing higher temperatures than other structures inside the pyramids
revealed in November 2015 how these new scanners are effective and efficient for ancient structures that also investigated the secret chambers that are said to be located behind King Tutankhamun's tomb walls.
