Tom Brady Looks Forward to Play in Miami for the Season Opener

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will be playing for the season opener against Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Although Brady missed the team's practice on Thursday due to a calf injury, he was the only player to be included on the first report of the week for the Patriots issued on Wednesday.

In an interview with Jim Gray of Westwood One, Brady said that he had a day off but had a lot of videos to watch to prepare himself mentally for Sunday's game. When asked if he would be playing in Miami, Brady answered that he is hoping to do so and he is looking forward to that. With high hopes, the football star stated that "anything can happen between now and then."

On the other hand, defensive linemen Chris Jones, Michael Buchanan, Sealver Siliga as well as tight end Rob Gronkowski were present for the Wednesday and Thursday practice but with limits.

"Practice is practice," said Devin McCourty, the team's defensive back and kickoff returner. "I've been here now five years. It's not the first time he hasn't been out there at practice. So practice still goes on even without Tom."

Bill Belichick, coach of the Patriots, did not talk to reporters on Thursday but the team planned to go on practice on Friday before going to Miami.

Brady is in positive spirit while attending his weekly conference with the media on Wednesday morning.

The Patriot's second round pick Jimmy Garoppolo is the only quarterback, aside from Tom Brady, on the roster.

Being a rookie at this year's season, Garoppolo replaced Ryan Mallett, the team's backup for the past 3 seasons, for the position. Mallett was traded to the Houston Texans on Sunday in exchange for a possible 6th or 7th round draft pick in 2016.
