China Yahoo suggests its users to take one of the migration options below to keep their e-mail and contacts. The users can migrate to Yahoo Mail offered by Yahoo Inc. in the United States. Or they can continue with Alibaba as their e-mail provider by signing up for a new Alibaba E-Mail account, agreeing to the Alibaba E-Mail terms of service, and following the instructions to migrate their current mailbox. However, Alibaba doesn't support the import of contacts, calendar events or notes. So if the users choose to continue with Alibaba as their e-mail provider they must use the contact export feature to migrate and retain access to their contact data before China Yahoo Mail is shut down on August 19th. In addition, users can use POP, IMAP, or 3rd party solutions to download or export their emails before 23:59 CST on August 19th.

China Yahoo! (www.yahoo.com.cn) has been acquired by Alibaba Group in October 2005. Alibaba Group formed a strategic partnership with Yahoo! Inc. to clinch the deal.

Alibaba Group is a privately owned Hangzhou-based company of E-Commerce businesses. It covers business-to-business online marketplaces, retail and payment platforms, shopping search engine and data-centric cloud computing services. In 2012, two of Alibaba's portals gained 1.1 trillion yuan ($170 billion) in sales, more than eBay and Amazon combined. The company operates in China. According to insider estimates, Alibaba Group will do $2.28 billion in net income in 2013 and $3.55 billion in net income in 2014.
