Microsoft has launched a new Trello-like task management app called Planner, which helps teams collaborate in a timely manner and execute tasks without the clutter of unorganized files.
In a blog post, the company announced that they are now beginning to roll out the app to eligible Office 365 customers globally.

Customers subscribed to Enterprise E1-E5, Business Essentials, Premium and Education can automatically use the Planner using the Office 365 app launcher once it is available.
People who have previously used task management apps like Trello and Asana will find that Planner follows the same look, design and model of task management.
The app aims to introduce better teamwork structure for businesses, schools and other organizations and maximize group efforts. With Microsoft's latest addition, teams can easily track their projects, create and assign new tasks, and organize files.
Users can also set deadlines, update statuses of each tasks through Planner while on the go, as they receive alerts in the form of email notifications every time a task or board is updated.
Another highlight that gives this new app an upper edge over its other task management rivals is its integration with other Microsoft-based products, a feature that will entice corporations who are already familiar with Microsoft's Office software.
The tools that can be integrated with Planner include OneNote, Outlook 2016, Outlook on the web and Outlook Groups Mobile Apps. Every project created using the Planner automatically links to a OneNote Notebook, according to the company.
As for file sharing, sending and receiving files via Planner can be easily done since the app works with Microsoft Office, thus allowing members to attach files created using Word, Excel and Powerpoint to any board.
Planner will be available to subscribers of Office 365 over the next few weeks.
