Guests to Walk on Special Red Carpet on Joan Rivers' Funeral; Probe on "Cause and Manner of Death" Continues

Joan Rivers was placed on life support this Saturday, relying on the machines to keep her alive after being placed in a medically induced coma.

Joan Rivers' funeral will be getting the special red carpet treatment where guests can walk before giving their last respects to the late comedienne, Us Weekly has reported.

The 81-year-old TV personality gained considerable fame for critiquing the fashion styles of celebrities walking the red carpet before the Grammys, Oscars, and other special Hollywood events.

Additionally, the carpet set outside East Side's Temple Emanu-El will be buried with Rivers as well, as further stated by Us.

The comedian's daughter, Melissa Rivers, made the final arrangements last Friday at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home for this Sunday's sendoff . When the reporters caught up to her, the younger Rivers only statement had been: "I'm all right."

The 46-year-old TV host did not disclose details on the current investigation on her mother's death-related circumstances, including an autopsy being carried out by the city medical examiner.

Inconclusive results were obtained in the initial autopsy and further testing will be conducted to ascertain the "cause and manner of death" for the comedian, ME spokeswoman Julie Bolcer stated.

Rivers had been admitted to the Mount Sinai Hospital last Aug. 28 following a cardiac and respiratory arrest at Yorkville Endoscopy Center. City police detectives and the state Health Department alike were the first to investigate the incident the following day.

Last Thursday, the "Fashion Police" host was taken off life support and passed away at 1:17 in the afternoon.

As reported by the New York Daily News, Rivers' family has taken into consideration a lawsuit to be filed for the comedian's sudden death.

In the hilariously honest comedian's book "I Hate Everyone... Starting With Me" released in 2012, Rivers mentioned about having an extravagant funeral when she dies.

"When I die (and yes, Melissa, that day will come; and yes, Melissa, everything's in your name), I want my funeral to be a huge showbiz affair with lights, cameras, action...," Rivers wrote. "I want craft services, I want paparazzi and I want publicists making a scene!"

She continued on about wanting a Hollywood-themed celebration, from Meryl Streep and Bobby Vinton gracing her envisioned funeral with their presence to being dressed with a Valentino gown and hair resembling Beyonce's.
