Sir Jony, a Brit, designed most of Apple's dwvices, including the iPhone, iPad, iPod, iPod Touch, MacBook Pro, iMac and MacBook Air.

Apple now has two of the world's best known industrial designers who will work together to design and craft its future products.

There are speculations Newson participated in the development of the iWatch but Apple has kept mum about these rumors.

This isn't the first time Newson will be collaborating with Ive. The two have been good friends and Newson worked with Apple on some designs last year.

Newson is enthusiastic about his new role, saying he has full admiration and respect for the incredible design and work Apple has produced, especially the designs by Ive and his team.

Newson is considered one of the most influential designers today. He's worked on designs ranging from furniture to household items to cars and aircraft.

A native of Sydney, Australia, Newson started working on furniture design as a student. His first exhibition was made possible by a grant awarded by the Australian Crafts Council.

His first exhibition was called the Lockheed Lounge and is probably his most famous work. He designed a chair covered entirely with aluminum and built with his bare hands.

The Lockheed Lounge was sold at an auction for US$1.6 million in 2006 which was the highest ever paid to a living contemporary designer at that time.

Newson was also included in Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World and has been appointed as the United Kingdom's Royal Designer for Industry.

His works are exhibited in major museums such as the Centre Georges Pompidou, London's Design Museum and V&A, and MoMA in New York.

Newson's design philosophy involves not having a specific style. He believes in the consistency of what he creates and that simplicity will always win over complexity.
