The Arab League held an emergency meeting on Sunday in Cairo to discuss how they could actively work with international efforts to confront the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS).
U.S. President Barack Obama appealed to world leaders, specifically Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, last Thursday during the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit held in Wales.

During the emergency meeting, the foreign ministers of the Arab League discussed the growing impact of ISIS on the Arab world. The leaders talked about the resolution they passed last month about member states that prevents the flow of foreign fighters and various forms of support to ISIS.
Nabil al-Arabi, the Arab League's secretary-general, focused on the ISIS' rise and called for a vital resolution how to confront the militant group. He discussed the military, political, cultural and economic aspects on how to deal with ISIS.
Arabi suggested that military action could be one of the forces that the Arab League joint defense pact could offer, but it was not clear if the League's participation would be a direct military involvement in Iraq and Syria.
At the close of the meeting, it was reported that an implied agreement was included in which they will join the White House to eliminate the ISIS militants.
The Arab League also reportedly called for Syrian opposition groups to meet with them to discuss a possible reconciliation government.
Aside from the Arab League, Baghdad also drafted a resolution regarding their own efforts to confront the ISIS militants. The resolution mentioned that ISIS militants' actions should be condemned as war crime and crimes against humanity.
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has declared a caliphate over numerous villages in the countries and more and more countries are working closely for their plans to dismantle the group.
The latest U.S. attack happened on Sunday. Sources said that U.S. warplanes struck the area four times to threaten the ISIS militants.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Saudi Arabia and Jordan this week to talk with Gulf leaders to further discuss plans and actions against the ISIS militants.
