Justin Bieber has made the headlines lately for his disturbing behavior, and people close to him are worried that the Canadian pop singer is headed towards breakdown.

In fact, Justin's former girlfriend, singer-actress Selena Gomez has reportedly become "increasingly worried" about her ex-boyfriend, and she is already "feeling the pressure" to come to Bieber's rescue.

Bieber and Gomez dated from 2010 to 2014.

"[Selena] hates seeing him get in trouble all the time because she honestly feels she could have helped him and still could help him," a source told Hollywood Life.

Bieber's erratic behavior has seen him engage in a hotel fist fight, walk barefoot in a park, cancel meet-and-greets and even ward off fans.

"People around Justin are nervous about him and worry that he could have a breakdown," Sugarscape reported.

A source told ET said that what Justin needs is a break and more space. In fact, the source said that the fan meet-and-greets on his Purpose tour were canceled because he was "drained from absorbing the spiritual energy of so many people."

Also, the photo ops with fans were denied because Bieber felt "like a zoo animal," Rolling Stone revealed.

"It has gotten to the point that people won't even say hi to me or recognize me as a human. I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity," he reportedly said.

As for Selena, who always makes it clear that it is already impossible for she and her ex to reconcile romantically, a source for Hollywood Life confirmed that she still cares so much for Bieber and hopes he saves himself from the trappings of fame before a serious breakdown takes him in.

 "[Selena] hates seeing [Bieber] getting into all these predicaments," the insider, saying she "would love for him to just take a break away from everything and everyone."
