Fran Drescher Weds Inventor of Email, Shiva Ayyadurai

Actress and producer Fran Drescher is a missus again.

The star of "The Nanny" and "Happily Divorced" just tied the knot with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai on Sunday. The two wed in an intimate ceremony, surrounded by close friends and family near their beach-front home.

Drescher donned a Badgley Mischka dress while, Ayyadurai wore Ralph Lauren.

Drescher's new husband is reportedly quite the genius. Ayyadurai is said to have the copyright to the computer program and technological concept "email". He was said to have come up with the term and the idea for "email" while he was still in high school in the late 1970s.

Drescher met her new love a year ago during an event hosted by life guru and author, Deepak Chopra.

Ayyadurai shared, "I was speaking on sages and scientists - in fact, talking about innovation and the fact that we need to more universally look at the models of innovation. And Fran heard my talk and we fell in love, and we've been together since that talk."

This summer, the couple looked very much in love as the actress posted a photo of them sharing a kiss while on vacation, captioning it with "Signing for now dolls. Be happy b well. B loving"

With Drescher's penchant for laughter and comedy, it is no surprise to hear her new life partner say that every day with the actress feels like a celebration, and that they enjoy laughing and having fun.

Drescher married her high school sweetheart, writer-director-producer Peter Marc Jacobson, when she was 21. In 1985, armed robbers broke into the former couple's home and Jacobson was forced to watch while the criminals raped his wife.

In 1999, Drescher and Jacobson divorced after being separated for several years. Shortly after the divorce, Jacobson came out as gay. They have no children together.
