The episode earned a total of 3.6 household rating. Approximately 70 percent of the households in the United States also tuned in to the said episode.
Obama's appearance on "The Tonight Show" also happened to generate the best overnight night for the show ever since it first aired several years ago.
It topped a 2014 episode that then featured Obama's wife Michelle.
The episode's 3.6 rating, on the other hand, matched the rating that the show received when Donald Trump guested last year.
Meanwhile, the president of the United States did so many things on Friday night, but what left the biggest mark on the viewers was his "Slow Jam the News" segment.
The segment was quite similar with a previous sequence that he did on Fallon's former show the "Late Night."
A video of Obama and Fallon's "Slow Jam the News" segment was also released online and it generated more than six million views within just three days.
The seven-minute video opened with Obama giving what seemed like a speech about his presidency.
"It's been an honor and a privilege to serve as your president over the past eight years. When I first took office, our nation was facing one of the worst recessions in history. Since then we've had more than 14 million new jobs and lowered the unemployment rate to under five percent. Through the actions of my administration, we were able to stimulate the economy to get our country back on track," he said.
At this point, Fallon gave his own speech about Obama and his presidency.
Fallon also asked Obama if he's watched the recent election coverage on television and the president said "no."
"But I have been watching my new favorite show: 'Orange is Not the New Black,'" he answered.
"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airs weekly on NBC.
