Facebook is increasingly boosting the video aspect of its site and will soon introduce more auto-playing videos.

It'll also have play counts that offer statistics on how many times a video has been viewed. Both features will be available for Facebook's users within the week.

Video views on Facebook grew by 50 percent in the second quarter of the year, and over 65 percent of this figure is attributed to mobile device consumption of content.

Facebook will test a new mobile feature that offers users videos similar to what he's just watched.

The quantity of video content on Facebook's News Feeds has been increasing, which the social networking site said is an integral element of its service.

"The goal of News Feed is to deliver the right stories to the right people at the right time, from the people and things you care about," said Fidji Simo, project management director of videos.

"And more people than ever before are seeing, sharing and expressing themselves with video on Facebook. We're committed to making Facebook the best place to share, discover and watch videos, and we'll keep listening to feedback to improve video on Facebook."

Facebook has begun rolling out the video auto-play feature, which will be available to users around the globe. It's included the option of turning off automatic play inside the options and settings menu on the user's phone to prevent potentially shocking high data bills.
